CONTEST GUIDELINES
Below are the Contest Guidelines that were used at the 2025 State Leadership & Skills Conference.
In December 2025, we will remove these, and start to replace them with the 2026 contest guidelines as we receive them from the contest’s technical committees.
In the meantime, feel free to use these for practice or information only.

Employment Application Process
Job Skill Demonstration A - demonstrate a career objective in an occupational area that is included in one of the contest areas of SkillsUSA.
Job Skill Demonstration Open - demonstrate any technical skill from outside the cluster/training program of the contestant.

Online Testing Information
For Competition at the Michigan State Leadership and Skills Conference, all students will take the Professional Development Assessment online in March 2026. Depending on the contest, some students may also have a Technical Assessment assigned to them in the online portal.
